Using the Library

The current group gift at Dragon Magick Wares is this stunning picture of a Dragonia Maiden hung above my bed. 

I liked it so much I decided to use it as a base (along with the colour scheme of my quilt) to colour coordinate my whole bedroom.

Fortunately I was able to pick out some green options from those included with my bed for the pillows. But I just didn't like the green wallpapers that came with my wall shell. I'm on a tight budget, as I'm saving my weekly stipend to buy a couch from LiViD, so although I've spotted a green and pink wallpaper that I think would look great, I'm holding off from buying it at the moment as it only comes bundled together with several other colourways in a texture pack.

In the mean time I found this green wallpaper in the Library section right below My Inventory of the Inventory window. It's actually supposed to be a fabric texture so it has to be tiled vertically and horizontally to get it to look more like wallpaper. Then I just tinted it dark green to a shade I liked. (Remember when doing any alterations to wall shells like this, that you must select the Select Face radio button - or you'll tile and tint green all of your wallpapers.)

Wanderlust Weekend: 11-12 February

I had an extremely productive shopping trip via Wanderlust Weekend yesterday. My first stop was to Spells and Charms to Go where I picked up a lilac floating heart that emits particle stars. By the way, in this photo you can see I'm wearing my casual shopping outfit: Morgan shoes, my LBD Dragon Scale trousers , a LiViD Macabre t-shirt and blazer (a free gift I think) and My Blvck Hat from Blaise. My shopping bag is an Oubliette one and is the bag one of my Witchy Hangout gachas came in. I have collected quite a few secondhand transfer-only pieces at very reasonable prices (for no more than L$50 on the Marketplace) to furnish my living room. Speaking of Oubliette and Witchy Hangout: the set is included in the Wanderlust sale so I popped over to Petite Mort to pick up the coordinating books and the wallhangings (all copy and mod).  Oubliette is also taking part and you can find the Luxe set included in the sake. Christmas at The Black Cat Inn

Today is Thanksgiving for our American friends, which means Christmas is now just around the corner and I've started decorating The Black Cat Inn. I've also added food offerings to the Inn. The Boar's Head from Botanica serves free sit-anywhere plates of Roast Boar Christmas dinner, while the back wall is showcasing The Black Cat Inn's menu of to-buy DFS food. For the food pricing I'm going for a realistic pricing structure based on how much it costs to actually make the food and what the median going rate for the item is. This means I won't offer food items at discount, below-cost prices, but I'm also not charging thousands of lindens. So far you can buy the DFS HW Poision (sic) of My Pie Platter for L$150 and I'm selling the DFS HW Cake - Along Came A Spider (which I think would make a fabulous gothic wedding cake) for L$200. There's more to come, with the Witch's Tea set and Harry Potter favourite Shepherds Pie in the works. Love &

LSL: Book giving script 1

In my study I have a bookcase that has two shelves filled with books and potion bottles. Those books and bottles are actually one texture on the face of a single prim sold as a wooden bookcase itself called RE Potions & Bottles Cabinet but moved and stretched (or rather cropped) so that all that appears are the contents of two shelves. Then within that one prim cabinet object there is a copy of the giver script from Kira Komarov with the GIVE_TYPE set to 6 and touch_start to only respond to llGetOwner() rather than llDetectedKey() as in my notecard giver . GIVE_TYPE 6 corresponds to objects, so is the type needed to give rezzable books. Remember that llDetectedKey() gives the ID of the last object/avatar to trigger a procedure. I use this bookcase to store my non-transferable books, therefore it's really important to check that avatars that cannot access my books aren't able to try or an error will be thrown.
